Camping in Cornwall

Southwinds gives beautiful panoramic views of both coast and countryside and takes in the glorious sunsets over Polzeath bay below us. 

Southwinds is ideal for families and couples who wish for some peace and tranquillity after a long day at the beach or out exploring the wonderful Cornish coast and countryside.

The site is made up of four spacious fields.

 Southwinds field is for small tents & campervans, our Budget area is in the centre of this field and is popular with walkers and surfers alike. 

Trenant field is for Caravans, Motorhomes and Campervans, we have reintroduced the option for tents to camp in Trenant field for 2024. We hope this will benefit Families who wish to be close to one another but have different types of camping set up. 

Lundy Field will remain our dedicated Tent field, we also have our Super pitch options in this field for those families with a larger tent or who just like a little bit more space. We then have Stepper field, this is open for the 6 weeks main summer period and accomodates all options on different pitches. 

Please check the size of your tent/vehicle is right for the pitch you reserve. If you choose a pitch that is too small, you may be asked to move and re-pitch. 

Electric hook-up is available on most of our allocated pitches & is now included in the pitch rate where available.

Free Wi-Fi access available to all fields.

 NEW for 2024 we have a limited number of pitches available for families who have more than one camping unit. (eg Motorhome & Small tent) These pitches are not available to book online, please contact reception by telephone or email for details.

 All Fields have space to park one vehicle along side your camping unit, with additional parking areas for an extra vehicle if required.

PETS, Whilst we accept well behaved dogs on leads on-site, we have had to make the decision not to accept XL Bully dogs or any of the breeds listed on the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. We understand not all of these breeds are infact dangerous and are family pets, we must be mindful of all our families and guests on-site at all times, we will in due course update our terms and conditions accordingly. 

We have Free Hot Showers, Large hot water washing up sinks. 

Coin operated Washing Machines and Tumble Dryers along with a free to use chest freezer.

There is a footpath to Polzeath Beach & village, ask in reception for directions as we don’t recommend walking along the road.

Please note the footpath is a walking route only & not suitable for Cycles, Trollies, or Buggies or Wheelchairs. 

Please note: During High Season we cannot guarantee check in before 1pm.

Latest Check in time is strictly 6pm in Low Season and 7pm in High Season
