Due to the huge number of bookings we need to sort through we can only accept bookings online presently. Click the Book Now button where you can check availability, choose a pitch, book online, pay an outstanding invoice or view our site plans and tariffs.


Online Bookings should be ready from 31st October onwards

We have taken the decision to no longer accept any tents, trailer tents or folding caravans for the 2021 season onwards. Awnings will be permitted on camper vans, motorhomes and caravans, but they must be an appropriate size and designed for your vehicle. As a rule of thumb your awning should not exceed the size of the van its attached to, i.e we won’t accept a VW sized camper with an awning that is 2 or 3 times the size of a VW van  No pup tents or tents in lieu of an awning will be allowed.

We aim to have our facilities open as usual during 2021 unless the current government guidelines say otherwise. We would still advise everyone to try and have at least a portable toilet  for their use should there be an issue with Covid-19 and shared facilities.

Covid- 19 

Oct 2020 – Please note we will note be accepting anyone who is living in a Tier 3 zone as defined by the government. 

We have decided that we won’t be taking any tents or trailer tents this year. Anyone with a tent booking will be contacted shortly.

Only Self Contained (indoor toilet and shower – No toilet tents or outdoor solar showers) caravans and motorhomes will be able to book. They will then be open between 7.30am to 10.30am and again from 5pm to 7.30pm although we would recommend you use your own facilities as much as possible to try to prevent the potential spread of Covid-19

A maximum of 6 people (from the same family) may stay on any 1 pitch, and we remind you that all cars will be parked off site this season. The 1st car is included in the price, any additional vehicles will be charged as usual.

Our chemical toilet disposal point and all our drinking water taps will be in use to enable people to be self-contained in caravans and motorhomes.

Please Note – We will only be accepting people with bookings, if you don’t book in advance you won’t be able to stay this year.

Social Distancing
In preparation for social distancing we have reviewed the layout of the site and have reduced our capacity  to allow for a 1+ meter socially distant “dead zone” in-between pitches. This will be roped off and must NOT be used by campers, so we ask you not to store surfboards etc. in these spaces which will help keep each family separate from their neighbours. These socially distant areas are fixed, and where families may have multiple pitches booked, the 1+ meter rule must still be kept.
To help with the social distancing we will be making it mandatory for all cars to be parked off site in the car park after unloading There will be no charge for the 1st Car, and additional cars will be charged as normal. There will be no exceptions. If this doesn’t suit your needs for this year we are happy to transfer your booking to next year so you don’t lose your pitch. (See below)
It will be down to each individual family to ensure they stick to social distancing rules wherever possible

Checking In
We would ask that when arriving and coming to reception to check in that only 1 person, preferably the named person, who made the booking, comes in with the required information. Please do don’t bring the whole family in to reception; as much as we’d love to see you all we don’t have the space to keep people socially distant.
We would ask that any payments are made on a credit or debit card whenever possible and to use the contactless option if possible ( Card payments can be up to £45, but Apple Pay has no limit) We will have hand sanitiser for you to use and will wipe down our chip & pin terminal after each use.
We would remind people that this year more than ever, not to over crowd their pitch and to ensure only 1 unit per pitch. You will not be permitted to have any visitors or to add any extra people on to your booking this year in order to keep the number of people onsite down to a manageable level and not put a strain on the facilities. You must ensure that you don’t walk across or through someone else’s pitch.

Tristram Campsite is positioned on the gently sloping and beautifully grassy cliff overlooking Polzeath Beach, the view really has to be seen to be believed.  The site itself is fenced off from the beach path providing both privacy and safety, especially for children.

Our good friends at The Cracking Crab Cafe are handily situated next door to the campsite and they have a fully licensed bar. They offer a stunning menu for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Please Note: We are unable to Pre-Book for a 1 night stay, however the majority of the time we will be able to slot you in somewhere for an odd night on arrival. Please call the day before to check current availability.

Silver Pitches

Suitable for family sized caravans & motorhomes . Space for awning on vans. Parking for 1 car & electric hookup included.

Family Pitches

Our longest pitch up to 10m in length ( X 8m wide) so ideal for larger caravans or motor-homes . Space for awning on vans. Parking for 1 car and electric hookup included.

Gold Pitches

Suitable for the larger caravans and motorhomes up to 8M in length. Space for awning on vans. Parking for 1 car & EH included. Great sea views, nice and flat.

The Terraces

Terraced and individually fenced off leading down to our private entrance to the beach. Suitable for the larger family sized  caravans and motorhomes up to 8M in length. Space for awning . Parking for 1 car & electric hookup included. Great sea views, nice and flat.

Arrival time for all pitches is 2pm onwards

Departure time is by 10.30am

The Cracking Crab Cafe

The latest addition to The Winking Prawn Group is the Cracking Crab in Polzeath, Cornwall. With a name like “The Cracking Crab” you can guess what we do? Crab and a lot of it! There’s seafood by the bucket load and juicy West Country steaks off the grill, so why not check out the menu? The bar is always fully stocked with chilled local beers, ciders and wine, perfect out on the sundeck soaking up the views.
IMG_1890We are so close to the beach you can practically feel the sand between your toes as you tuck in, and the breathtaking panoramic view of the beach and surf is equal to any. The Cracking Crab can be whatever you want it to be; fun for the whole family (including the dog), a hot spot for breakfast, a leisurely lunch watching the surf, a resting place for a cup of tea after a walk along the coast path or an awesome place to watch the sun setting over sundowners before supper.
